George II - Results (2007)
January 2007
ER2: -13.6 pts with 8 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -13.6 pts with 8/3 trades.
Not a good start of the year, to say the least, but there is still a good chance that this quarter will be positive just like all the quarters in 2006.
February 2007
ER2: -15.8 pts with 9 trades of which 2 were winners
YTD: -29.4 pts with 17/5 trades.
Well, what can I say? The market stayed in the range all the month and that shows.
March 2007
ER2: -8.8 pts with 6 trades of which 2 were winners
YTD: -38.2 pts with 23/7 trades.
Another bummer month.
April 2007
ER2: -6.0 pts with 8 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -44.2 pts with 31/10 trades.
This is the fourth losing month in a row, although this time the loss was rather moderate. If May does not produce any profits, I will be forced to discontinue this system. We are now sitting on a 62 pt drawdown as measured from the last peak in the system equity curve and this does look awful. If you started in a drawdown of 25 pts and allowed yourself a buffer of at least $5760, as recommended in the FAQ, you would still be fine although definitely not very happy.
May 2007
ER2: -3.7 pts with 8 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -47.9 pts with 39/13 trades.
The only good thing about this month was that its loss was the smallest of all months this year, but this is hardly good news. If next month does not bring a winner, this system is history.
June 2007
ER2: 16.9 pts with 6 trades of which 4 were winners
YTD: -31.0 pts with 45/17 trades.
Finally a winning month and a positive quarter. Let's hope that this is the beginning of positive things in the life of this system in 2007.
July 2007
ER2: 5.3 pts with 8 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -25.7 pts with 53/20 trades.
Another winning month which is definitely good news.
August 2007
ER2: 5.4 pts with 7 trades of which 2 were winners
YTD: -20.3 pts with 60/22 trades.
The third winning month in a row and that's, for sure, good news.
September 2007
ER2: -14.3 pts with 10 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -34.6 pts with 70/25 trades.
This could have been completely different and much better a month with just a bit more luck. But it was not. We would be shaken out of our position on three occasions before the market would take off for good, once making over 25 pts. I believe that re-entering after an early loss like that could improve this system performance or at least that would have definitely been the case this month. More testing is needed though to see if this opinion is indeed valid.
October 2007
ER2: -19.8 pts with 13 trades of which 3 were winners
YTD: -54.4 pts with 83/28 trades.
The worst month this year, but not the worst one since I started these updates. That's about it as far as good news go ...
November 2007
ER2: 58.5 pts with 9 trades of which 7 were winners
YTD: 4.1 pts with 92/35 trades.
The best month yet since I started these updates. Now, how about this for good news? Nothing to write home about when it comes to annual performance, though, but let's see what December brings. At least, for the first time this year we are in the positive territory.
December 2007
ER2: 34.6 pts with 8 trades of which 4 were winners
YTD: 38.7 pts with 100/39 trades.
The second best month since I started these updates. So good that we ended the year with a small profit even after deducting $25 per trade for commissions and slippage. Incidentally, the pure profit last year was pretty much the same, even if a tad smaller.
